Hello there, SI biothreads seem quiet tonight. hadn't noticed MAGN, that is nice to see, although I don't own an awful lot (no extra shares for trading).
Talent? I think mostly in right place at right time, but it is very nice of you to say. Sometimes the extra DD doesn't even pay off, well not short term, I hear you on that--I buy GLIA, right away down ten percent.
Don't understand why Genset did an about face, I guess the main runup was coattails, but I'm going to hang in there, probably--H&Q I think was today or tommorrow on that one, so strength in the weeks ahead would be a good sign--probably a good alternative to Celera and the likes I should think.
To be honest about one thing--I had actually sold my shares of TGEN, just kept the wife's. Well with that cash laying around, I bought back 2500 shares today for a buck above where I sold them. I hate doing that, but I think it might be the right choice. biowa for one was impressed with H&Q and I think it is fair to say that a little premium for management is okay to pay for TGEN. Of course any sucess with CF could garner a headline for that one, if CF trials don't work out I think I still would hold for everything else.
Also, not that it means anything, I once said on the Yahoo Ariad thread that I'd never go below 10k shares, well I'm down to just 2000. But there is something so distasteful about the spamming and the hype over there that made me do it...fwiw, it just smells like the stock is going to take some hits and back off a bit. I know there are all sorts of good cliches about how it is okay to take profits, but I feel like a real bastard for selling so much of that on this run up. ARGENT is still the most dazzling thing I have ever seen in biotech...but I will do my best not to have sellars remorse. Would probably be good to sit on the cash and watch for some local company anyway--am I really going to fly back east for annual meetings?--Not likely, but I'll be there with bells on at tgen's meeting. |
