Some thoughts about INTC...

I've been an INTC investor for years (but I don't currently have a position - having unloaded my last shares during the recent runup).

It's a great company, and a great stock for a lifetime. However, in the short to intermediate term I have to wonder:

1) If Gateway blew up.
2) If Dell is choking.
3) If everyone really wants small handhelds, net appliances or cheap "web" PCs.
4) If AMD (despite being a dog) is getting a little traction.
5) If lots of people are buying iMacs.
6) If Sun is becoming a server monster.

Then how on Earth is Intel going to hit - much less beat - its numbers this quarter?

I'm a little concerned that every INTC "analyst" seems to be coming out of the woodwork with outlandish bullish predictions and price targets right before Thursday's announcement. I think it is irresponsible in a market that is getting riskier by the minute interest-ratewise.
