SMC stock needs to have a period of accumulation to time with some good news, before distribution. The inventory shrinkage is still unknown. Although some guess of $40 million and subsequent news release by the company of more than $35 million earnings before--everything--etc. can be some indication of continuation in chapter 11. The company is in danger of falling into chapter 7, if rumors of substantial stores closing is true.
However, the lack of news of stores closing plan is actually a good news in disguise. It means careful re-examination is in progress.
The projections by ronjo and friscojonesp on Yahoo boards were entertaining but lack the prediction of trend established by previous years. And unless there is no more store closing, any projection is meaningless.
Interesting to note, that the 233 stores remaining were the pick of the crop. And yet there are new weaknesses. This points out that merchandising has changed but the store locations are not. One learns that you can not change too many variables when you try to fix things. Restoring the right merchandise at the right location will restore the revenue lost.
Any way I need market makers to call the management to discuss their plans, before we can proceed further. This is a project that some market maker will make a name for himself (or herself?). Don't give up the chance. 100% effort is needed here.
