My mistake in first intervening in this thread was not seeing that so many of the participants just want to fight. And some want to use me as one of their weapons.

No more. I have removed my bookmark from this thread so I can give the other threads (on which this site hangs its hat) the attention I was hired to give them.

If an attack is particularly vicious, I want to know about it. But I'd rather not hear any more of the complaints about things that so many participants have already decided will be the status quo for this thread.

Hmmmmmmmmm. Really? Why was Bill Vaughn suspended if you have unbookmarked the thread and are not paying attention? Almost feels like a doublecross to me. Just a few questions that might be relevant:

What was the particularly vicious attack which resulted in his suspension since that would seem to be the standard you set out in this message I'm responding to?

If you found the alleged attack particularly vicious, did you read the thread leading up to it and has the other party been suspended as well?

Maybe you ought to explain your rationale for the suspension in light of the post I'm responding to so we can all act accordingly?

Who is is that used you as a weapon in this case?

I think you had it right when you said you should never have intervened. But if you are going to intervene, then you must enforce the rules evenly and consistently. IMO, you haven't done that in this case nor in many others.
