Infinium Acquires Dexton Information Systems
HYANNIS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 13, 2000--
Web-based Customer Relationship Management Provider
to Expand Infinium Enterprise Business Solutions and
Application Service Provider Offerings
Infinium (NASDAQ:INFM), a provider of enterprise business solutions and services that enable the virtual enterprise, today announced that it has acquired Dexton Information Systems, BV, a supplier of Web-based customer relationship management solutions.
With the acquisition of Dexton, Infinium enhances its enterprise business solutions and application service provider (ASP) offerings by providing its customers with an end-to-end solution that tightly integrates a strategic, highly-sophisticated and customizable front-office customer relationship management (CRM) solution with Infinium's financial, human resources, supply management, process manufacturing and business intelligence solutions, as well as other applications. Infinium's end-to-end offerings provide a choice of deployment and implementation models including ASP-hosted, and Web- and server-based, with comprehensive consulting services to leverage and optimize customers' enterprise business solutions.
"Infinium's competitive advantage lies in our relationship with our customers - how much we know about them, and how much they depend on us to keep their business growing," said Bob Pemberton, chief executive officer of Infinium. "Our customers' success depend upon their abilities to build and strengthen their customer relationships. By acquiring Dexton, we are empowering our customers to get the most out of their customers, people, data and back-office solutions to contribute to revenue growth and strategic goals that increase sales, gain market share and improve upon their competitive advantage."
Dexton's solutions provide the self-service features and high-functionality that empower a successful customer relationship. Through the Dexton acquisition, Infinium customers are offered an end-to-end solution that tightly integrates Web-based customer relationship management strategies with traditional enterprise business solutions and ASP offerings. Dexton's CRM solution allows for the management of all customer-facing activities throughout the customer life cycle, providing a competitive advantage in attracting and retaining customers.
Infinium strengthens its world-wide presence by gaining Dexton's 45 person staff located in the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom with extensive experience in developing, marketing and selling CRM solutions.
Additionally, through the Dexton acquisition, Infinium secures a significant, solid and well-known customer base including Heineken Germany, Kuhne and Nagel, and Sara Lee/DE, among others.
"The Infinium acquisition of Dexton offers great opportunities for Infinium to further develop their CRM solution's excellence and reach into all corners of the world," said F.P.H. Bot, managing director of Heineken Germany.
"When we decided to purchase and implement Dexton's CRM solution we had three selection requirements in mind," said H.P. Kostan, vice president of Sales and Marketing at Kuhne and Nagel. "We wanted a solution that would be easy to manage; a solution that could quickly adapt to our specific needs; and a solution with world-wide rollout and service capabilities. All three selection requirements were fulfilled with Dexton's CRM solution. We expect that Infinium's acquisition of Dexton will further increase their capability to deliver solutions and services according to our needs."
Infinium closed the Dexton Information Systems, BV, acquisition on January 13, 2000 with the issuance of 320,000 shares of Infinium common stock and approximately $5.0 million in cash. The transaction will be accounted for as a purchase.
"We're excited about joining Infinium," said Peter Ton, managing director of Dexton Information Systems. "We look forward to immediately integrating our people and solutions with Infinium."
