NETP >> Reply on Split , Paul Allen selling issue

Why is everyone so scared after seeing this:

Vulcan Ventures, headed by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, planned to sell 596,318 common shares of Net Perceptions.

Yes it is not good to see some reputed holder selling some of the shares. Because such large investors hold for longer duration making that much float out of the market. But also think about this - Most institutional investors don't invest in those companies in which there is small float and less liquidity. So in a way this selling is good as it will add more liquidity. To me this news is not of any major concern as 596,318 shares are no big deal. Look at EBAY, it recently had insiders selling of around $130 millions. Also read my previous post where I discussed more in detail on such selling. I believe that Paul Allen / VV selling is over now and is digested by the market already. So forget about that fear and focus on what the future will bring to NETP. Perhaps more institutional buyers and visibility.

Secondly on question about stock split, my guess is we will get split with upcoming results. I would expect a split from NETP management very soon as I anticipate the stock to rise higher prior to results.

Just my views.
