Buried at the bottom of this article is the fact that Liberty Surf has purchased 10% of XSNI for $5.0 MM. Hmmm...bargain purchase or a realistic valuation? Should be interesting to see how the market evaluates this news.

In the eight months since the April launch of its service Liberty Surf has gained 610,000 subscribers with 120 million minutes of telephone communications logged.

Shares in Kingfisher rose 9-1/2p or 1.7 percent to 569-1/2p. Analysts had been speculating on a float for some time.

Kingfisher's partner in the venture is Europ@web -- a holding company owned by Bernard Arnaud, chairman of the French luxury group LVMH, which also owns 45 percent.

``Liberty Surf plans to continue the acquisition programme it began in 1999 and like many of its competitors is considering tapping the capital markets in order to accelerate its international growth,' a statement from Liberty Surf said.

Liberty Surf on Thursday bought a 10 percent stake in X-Stream for $5 million. X-Stream is the third biggest free Internet service provider in the UK with 500,000 subscribers.
