Guy, re: chip market & AMAT

I see huge growth in the chip market. I haven't yet decided where I'm going to put the cash from my AMAT sale this morning.

Look, I think Applied Materials is a great company. But they just spent 1770 times earnings for a company that went from $288 million DOWN to $237 million in revenues in their last fiscal year, ended July 31st, 1999. How long will it take for growth (assumed) to overcome the share and earnings dilution this deal represents? What happens to Applied's EPS?

Maybe I'm way off base. My humble opinion only, good luck with this stock in the future.

John
