<Wall Street Journal reports this morning that the average PC price has gone from $789 in Sept. to $844 in December. They attribute this rise to a "huge drop-off in competition..">

It seems likely to me that the rise in ASP would be more due to the $400 cash rebates for Internet services. While this is no gift, it seems to be a great help to PC sales. Maybe the buyers think with the extra $400, they can afford a slightly better machine. So, what happens when these deals get pulled? MSN has found that Calif. law says a buyer can drop their 3 year ISP contract with no recourse.

Regards,

Mark

PS Kudos to Lawrence Kam for APM short. I thought he was getting greedy sticking it out to the end, but he was right.

Has this or the demise of Yamaha helped RDRT?
