I nominate the notion that stock splits are the key to investing in Internet stocks.

Here is just one example of many of someone who thinks splits matter. This poster thought that if only YHOO had split 3 for 1 instead of 2 for 1, YHOO would not have gone down.

it's no use to pump after YHOO announced 2:1 split. I don't think Koogle
has learned last year's lesson. I was
disappointed at 2:1 split since GE could
provide 3:1, why not YHOO? Fortunately, I
have reduced my holding prior to the report
simply because I understand YHOO's behavior
learned from last lesson. I don't think YHOO
could come back to $400 in a short time. The
technical chart suggests it may continue to
slide, hopefully, it could hold at $350 and
rebounce from there. Excellent report cannot
directly translate into rally, but 3:1 split
matters. Fewer buyers today have told us that
YHOO may head south for the next couple of
days.
