<<CT: You ignore the core problem: Whining competitors. They would complain that there was collusion between O/S And Apps. Cos.>>

I believe I stated rather clearly why this wouldn't happen. It would not be in the best interest of either company.

<<Such government intervention concepts are the hallmarks of centrist big government dreamers>>

That isn't a sufficient argument. I am not a dreamer nor am I in favor of a large centrist government. I believe that you're motives to stereotype those that disagree with the 'John Dowd' political/economic and moral philosophy are rather transparent.

You're obvious attempt to win this thread's mind share at the cost of committing the same 'sins' you so often preach against is a paradox. I believe that your manual of morality has several verses dedicated to to behavior that you so often exhibit.

After all John, which is best? A large corporation that chooses to smugly interpret the law in their best interest? Or a government that seeks to level the playing field by circumventing natural market forces? In a free society, you often need to pick the lesser of two evils.
