I think you're right on "the sum of the parts being greater than the whole."

I think Bill Gates has a "thing" about anybody telling him what to do, and rightfully so. I understand his reluctance to split, but it may be best for all.

That being said, I really hate to see our gov't get involved in matters of poor business methods.

Your breakout of the MSFT breakup looks really good to me. I do think you may be over optimistic about W2K, though.

Just going on my perceptions, I see no need to spend $200+/- to upgrade something that works for me. Unless of course they discontinue support for W98 completely.

We'll see what happens. Right now the first PnF support is 97 at the last double top break.
