Well Wolff, I give you credit for stirring up attention, even if you are quite confused on the facts. Re: "I fully expect the Athlon to go to 1.5 Gigahertz and above." To bad your expectations do not mean much. Re: "And how did AMD keep the K6 alive so well, huge cache very well shrunk on the die." Totally wrong. The K6/K6-2 was a financial disaster for AMD and the only way they kept it alive was by flushing $100s of $$Millions$$ down the toilet. The K63 was another disaster which AMD was virtually incapable of manufacturing. Speeds were well below the market sweet spot and the device was never available in meaningful quantities. Re: "AMD always has had better ability to put memory within the CPU." The K63 disaster argues strongly against you. EP
