is some blockbuster MSFT announcement coming now?

there are 2....first is ballmer's promotion...here is the second.

ELON has been tossed around and generally ignored...I asked yesterday if it could be an instant gorilla since it was announced the ANSI standard a week ago.

I know...I know...we need a tornado first.

Or do we? The settlement is often stated as when QCOM became a gorilla. Was QCOM in a tornado when the settlement was reached or did it come after?

ELON has gone from 12 to 45 in a week.

CSCO, MSFT and SUNW are behind using ELON's lonworks for interconnecting everything electronic to the internet. CEO's of MSFT and CSCO have both openly praised ELON in the past three weeks.
I mentioned that some European appliance makers are already using it as is honeywell and others.

look at this softie news release that just came out. ELON made a huge move one hour before this news was released.

GE, Microsoft in pact for talking friges, smart ovens
LOUISVILLE, Ky., Jan 13 (Reuters) - General Electric Co. (NYSE:GE - news) said Thursday it inked a deal with Microsoft Corp.(NasdaqNM:MSFT - news) to jointly develop technology to interconnect home appliances and other consumer devices.

The agreement is part of a broad effort, which includes notable industry leaders such as Sony Corp., Intel Corp.(NasdaqNM:INTC - news) and International Business Machines Corp.(NYSE:IBM - news), to expand the so-called ``universal plug and play forum' that will allow an array of consumer appliances and products to communicate with one another via a wireless network.

The goal of the universal plug and play forum encourage a new generation of easily networked devices and appliances based on open Internet-based standards and protocols.

GE's vision for the near future includes ``smart' appliances is, such as a Web-enabled refrigerator with a detachable Web pad that allows consumers to access the Internet, and monitor and control their home appliances remotely.

The new revolution in home appliances may bring much needed vitality to GE's appliance division, one of the giant's weakest performing units in recent quarters.

The company recently displayed this product at the National Association of Home Builders convention in Dallas, and included a microwave oven that reads Universal Product Codes (UPC) and connects to the refrigerator via a network.

The GE microwave is programmed to read the UPC, display recipe or ingredient information important for dietary needs, and begin cooking with pre-programmed cooking instructions.

Both concept appliances can self-diagnose problems and alert the GE Answer Center for parts and service.

The new smart products could be integrated into the universal plug and play network.

``Imagine getting to work, turning on your desktop computer and receiving a message from your home appliance network that you left an oven burner on,' GE Appliances President and Chief Executive Larry Johnston said in a statement. ``With universal plug and play technology you could remotely access the oven from your work computer and turn it off,' he said.
