Terrapin,

The Kyocera news is old. I went there to see if there was something more current then remembered that I hadn't posted the earlier news.

There's one thing that stands out to me. Look at the non-Japan production facilities for Mita - Mita Hongkong and Mita South Carolina. Japanese production does not appear to be copier and printer assembly. I don't know what they do in SC, but it isn't hard to figure out that HK production would be cheaper than SC.

I add this to the news available on VTech and Namtai, then factor in Epson, and I get a very positive picture for this Q.

The only potential downside I can find is the potential of rising oil prices causing resin prices to shoot up, but I know Deswell monitors the prices carefully and their cash position is strong enough for them to lock in the low prices. The only possible effect would be a small percentage reduction in gross profit.

My sell order was placed a few weeks ago, shortly after my last buy at $16.00. I had forgotten I placed it until I was buying another stock and looked at my order status. I remember placing it because I thought there might be a run-up then a fall back (it didn't run that high). I canceled because IMO DSWL will seem cheap at $18.375 after the report comes out.

FWIW,
Ron
