You think that Andy Grove is afraid of MSFT? ... maybe, but if they want to keep growing they will have to expand the revenue stream ... they seem to be on the path to do that with Networking products now.

I don't think MSFT is interested in AMD ... they already have a 'chip maker' in their pocket (DEC) ... to keep Intel in line? or maybe for MSFT to expand their revenue stream (for now MSFT seems to think they're going to take over Novell's market share ... seems that the financial community thinks they already have).

MSFT has a history of 'eating it's partners' ... someday it will be Intel's turn to be lunch, I think they would like to have some kind of insurance to use when that event looks like it's about to happen.

I don't think that NOVL BOD would be willing to sell though, they want to 'be in charge' no matter what ... kind of like a little kid at a soccer game that wants to monopolize the ball even when it's at the expense of his own team.

Maybe, after the current BOD members have left ... then, all sorts of things might become possible. Did you send in your proxy, ask the BOD to leave?
