John, Hold on to your INTC, we're going higher, much higher!!! I have not read through the full report yet, but INTC looks better than even I expected. Margins up over last year's Q4. Cost of goods sold close to flat, despite almost 20% increase in revenues, Y2Y. (due to better manufacturing efficiencies) High cost for amortization of acquisition's Good Will taken this quarter as an expense. This would have made earning's numbers for Q4 even better than reported. Shares outstanding increased so that no favorable impact on earnings from stock by back,(as IBM does). Huge build up of unrealized gains from stock portfolio of Internet stocks held by Intel. (Can be used to manage earnings going forward). However, best of all, R & D was up almost 30% for the quarter vs a year ago Q4. If R & D remained as a constant percentage increase, earnings numbers would be even much higher. Also forward looking statement for this year's margins are going to be up 1 to 2 points for 2000 over 1999. Going on to listen to CC now. but INTC should make 100 tomorrow. I HOPE!!! Have good evening. Best Regars, Jules |
