MO, IF Suzanne was not a random victim, of all the people Suzanne knew, Jim IS the most likely suspect.

No, actually the boyfriend is, though he's said to have an ironclad alibi. I should think there are other possibilities, though: remember that her parents said she was outspoken and critical. There must have been dozens of people she knew far better than she knew Jim Van de Velde.
