Wade Boggs was, like Intel, a great player.

To boosters, though, he's The Best Third Basemen Who Ever Lived. See, strikethree.com -- like Dave Paisley, I think Mike Schmidt kicks Wade's TBTBWEL.

Intel had a fine quarter. But a "blowout quarter"?
- IABG revenues and earnings were flat with last year
- operating income was down over that period
- the EPS surprise came from selling securities

Intel is a great semiconductor company. Whether they can become a great venture capital mutual fund, too, is open to question. Let me try again, too: core revenues and profits were flat. What did they blow out?

Cheers,

-mb
