I have never shorted a stock using Web Street. I am glad to hear that you had a good experience with that. I think that Web Street is a little concerned about what percent of their customers they will lose if they begin to charge for NASDAQ trades of a thousand shares or more after April 30. If they clear their own trades and customers have a better experience then they will probably keep most of the customers that they have. But if things like three hour waits for confirmation of a cancellation of a limit order still occur then they become just another discount broker.
