John F. Dowd: I am in agreement here also.

BTW, this afternoons news conference was very encouraging to me. Not just the the new CEO being appointed, but the emphasis on their focus on software (despite AOL/TWX deal).
I can't help but sense that Steve Case is second guessing his purchase of, in large part a content company especially after the YHOO head and again MSFT saying they have no interest in a mega merger. He is probably looking in the rear view mirror telling himself: "Their coming, I just know it".......But nothing is seen.

I feel reassured now that they will not do something out of haste (like our earlier talk on a possible T merger), but will keep in sight the high margin business of which is at their core strength. If it takes more investment in broadband to deliver it to consumers/corporations....so be it.

I liked the comment from Bill G. earlier commenting on the AOL/TWX deal saying something of the likes: "As big of a deal as that was, I didn't see to many software writers they got in the deal" (or engineers- I forget).

Regards,

Gary
