TP - I really was trying to do a fair comparison here, and if Optiplex is a better comparison, that's fine. The Optiplex came out at $1077... so it didn't seem like there was a lot of difference there. The point I was making is that significant numbers of customers, as many as 20% of commercial clients in some studies, buy a base configuration and don't change it for the life of the product. Expandibility is no premium for those guys and that is the market that iPaq is aimed at. My expectation is that DELL will defend that segment with a similar offering because there is nothing to move that class of customer up to the current low end of the DELL commercial desktop line - why would they pay twice as much for functionality they won't use? And that will shift ASP down, which must be countered by an increase in unit sales, or revenue from other product lines... nothing wrong with Dimension or Optiplex for the 80% of today's market which is looking for that class of product, but the mix is shifting.
