Winspear Resources has appointed the following:
Hugh Morris has been appointed chairman of the board. Dr. Morris has served
as a director with the company since 1998 and will serve in the capacity of
non-executive chairman. From 1962 to 1979, Dr. Morris held a series of
positions with Cominco Ltd. in its exploration and mining departments and
eventually became a director, exploration, for Cominco's worldwide
activities. Dr. Morris is a member of several scientific and professional
associations, including the Geological Association of Canada, the Canadian
Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, the Institution of Mining and
Metallurgy of London, and the Association of Professional Engineers of
British Columbia. He is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
John McDonald has been appointed to the position of executive
vice-president. Dr. McDonald has previously served as vice-president,
exploration, and has been a director of the company since 1993. Dr.
McDonald is a fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists and Geological
Society of Australia, member of the Association of Professional Engineers
and Geoscientists, British Columbia.
John McConnell has been appointed to the position of project manager, Snap
Lake. Mr. McConnell brings more than 25 years of mining experience to the
company and has most recently served as vice-president, Breakwater
Resources. Prior to Breakwater, he spent 11 years at Nanisivik mine in the
position of general manager and mine superintendent. Previous to Nanisivik,
he spent six years with Strathcona Mineral Services Limited involved in
project management, feasibility studies, ore reserve calculations and mine
planning.
