Well, I am not keen on taking more from the military, frankly, since there is reason to be concerned with readiness issues, as well as issues of over-extension and under- retention. And the IMF can be a stabilizing force in the world. But it does make sense to defund various federal agencies, such as the Department of Education and the Department of Labor, and consolidate the residual useful functions. It makes sense to separate the pension portion of Social Security from the other uses to which it is put, and to make Medicare merely a subsidized form of catastrophic care insurance, instead of a full insurance program, so the those with means take care of themselves, and the balance is committed to Medicaid and the truly needy. There are other ideas that might be useful, but I only suggest a couple.....
