Thanks Maria...Maria just led off with Dell..reporting (as if it were NEW news) that Merrill STILL thinks that Dell will miss the quarter...excuse me, but wasn't this the same exact news (report, whatever)...that came out 3 days ago??....Maria leads off..."shares of Dell Computer will be weaker today" (uh, based on one repetition of a previous report...the stock will be close weaker today??? That was a bit un-cool, IMO....they did not miss the quarter Maria...)..The stock, as she was speaking, headed lower and lower in the futures... Merrill must really want the stock lower (??)...to keep pounding the table on 3 day old news (Dell misses by .01., given Y2K and component pricing (already known)..that's a BIG story?).........or it must be a slow news day for Maria.... Time for Dell to come out (as I suggested a couple days ago)..and pound the table for the stock again....if they can't tell us about Q1...at least talk about the rest of the year (glowingly).....otherwise...we will have another lame situation on our hands for the next few weeks.......UNTIL the market focuses on post Q1...which (with Intel's earnings report...) it appeared was going to happen today....Maria/Merrill sure trying to put a damper on things...
