CPI at/or less than expected - off to the races again?...

CPI edges up

Retail prices rose 0.2 percent in
December and the "core" consumer
price index, excluding volatile food and
energy items, edged up just 0.1
percent, the government said Friday --
both below Wall Street forecasts. Bond
prices rose and S&P futures jumped
after the report, pointing to a higher
open on Wall Street.
