Ike:

Good question.

At this end, Intel's numbers just add to my adrenalin. They show pretty much what several of us have foreseen, which is falling returns from Intel's main micro manufacturing business. Keep in mind that Q4 is the best month of the year for micro sales, and we should also factor in the double and triple ordering of components that transpired during the weird H2, 1999 Y2K inventory build.

I think a slow adding to d-o-o-t-m puts on Intel make sense as the stock moves up,.... that is unless some of the analytical gang actually do a bit of research and revise their expectations.

Generically, one has to like oil, but currently it does not stir my blood. Prices are elevated, and ANY slowing of the global economy will send it tumbling. I expect that tumble before April (but I'm usually "Early").

Best, Earlie
