I guess the real point is that minute to minute, day to day, week to week fluctuations are important to active traders but buy and hold investors really need to ask themselves if management and marketing are cream of the crop. If your answer is yes you hang on and inevitably you get where you want to go. If the answer is no or maybe, you should probably sell and invest elsewhere. What do you think? Is Steve Ballmer up to the task? Was the incredible growth of the last 15 years just a stroke of luck for Bill Gates? Has he demonstrated the vision, ability and will to adjust to changing market circumstances in the past? Will he be able to continue to make deft adjustments in the future? Obviously there are opposing opinions on these questions--that's what makes a market.
