I haven't caught any new paradigmers claiming that real interest rates are low! Can you please check your sources again? What I have heard is the standard claim that inflation is low (and it indeed is, as today's CPI number proves yet again ... ohhh, I forgot that if it is low then it must be cooked <VBG>) and nominal interest rates are for all to see. Now bond traders ... well, given that they have been so wrong about inflation for so long, the less said about their perceptions, the better. For example, an esteemed bond trader and regular Mythster was expecting a .5% increase in PPI - I hope he didn't bet that way!
