Hi Z--
Thanks for checking us out! eCongo's FreeCommerce Builder is an application which allows small business owners to create and publish web stores--a very different model than a mall in that we encourage small businesses to "stick" at a particular site, rather than sending them away . . . eCongo then hosts/manages the free web stores, but this is transparent to our client's commercial customers. For example--if we sign Prodigy and they offer this free tool to all their small business customers and get help them get their web stores up in literally a few hours, they get--1. Loyalty/Eyeballs, as these customers come to the Prodigy site daily as their webstores exist there and, 2. A revenue stream which is derived from the sale of premium services (i.e., credit card services, advertising, extended support, etc.) We split these revenues with our customers.
How do you direct traffic to your site? So the answer here is we are trying to direct traffic to our customer's sites, and grow our business by leveraging their customer base (that part might sound familiar). Our customers are companies with large small business affiliate bases,i.e., ISPs, banks, portals, etc.
Traditional advertising? Lots of ideas here! Banner ads, merchant networks/ad exchange, etc. Think "captive" audiences."
Go TSIG! Thanks again for writing--Mike |
