I guess these are very personal matters. I wasn't able to go to my grandmother's funeral, we had just moved up here and I had two babies and wasn't working and my husband was making $27,000/yr. I wish I had gone, although I would have had to borrow the money from someone, and I still don't know what I would have done with the kids. I was a pall-bearer at my other grandmother's funeral, and when my father's wife died, I read a passage from scripture at the service, and I am proud that I was asked to do both things.
