George, you seem to think that we have to choose between gloating and statistics. But there's all kinds of stuff posted here, good and bad, no matter what your criteria. Lies. Truths. Half-truths. Pretenses of identity. Claims to know someone who knows something. Trivialities. Stupid suggestions. Solid research. Blather. Personal vendettas. Good and bad jokes. Friendships between people who have never met. So if you say that the choice is between useful facts and time-wasting gloating, I say you have not been paying attention.
Anyway, George, there's room for everyone. You don't like gloating, so skim through it. I skim through an awful lot of stuff here, but I would not presume to tell anyone not to post his, for example, voluminous fear-mongering propaganda masquerading as analysis. Let them post it. Some people like it. Like you, I guess. On a wide-open unmoderated forum like this it is up to you to evaluate the postings. If you are complaining about time wastage, maybe instead of logging on to Silicon Investor you should bury your nose in the bowels of the Wall Street Journal.
There's more to life than spreadsheets. If you are one of those people who drive by an accident and don't look, then thou art way holier than I am. |
