Richard, Stroke is ISCHEMIC brain injury. Memantine is NON-ISCHEMIC neuro-protectant as NMDA receptor complex antagonist. Useless in stroke. Dr. A. Lipton from "The Children's.." never cover stroke in his patents. NTII does not have any benefit from memantine and similar class compounds for stroke. This is how I interpret situation according what I read. mz
