Fri 14 Jan 2000 News Release
Mr. Frank Wells reports
The company has entered into two new contracts for North American
distribution of travel product information to travel agents.
TFI Tours International is based in New York and has a reservation staff of
35. TFI Tours consolidates airfares for 21 airlines and offers destinations
such as Asia, Europe, South Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East. As
mentioned by Eric Schoenberger, owner of TFI Tours: "We have operated for
some time without a CRS distribution. To compete in today's marketplace, we
must have the CRS interface that Solarnet offers. The Solarnet solution is
not only cost-effective, but is an important marketing strategy to increase
our market share."
D-FW Tours is based in Dallas and has a reservation staff of over 65. D-FW
Tours has annual sales of over $40-million (U.S.). Consolidating airfares
for 35 airlines, D-FW Tours is one of the major suppliers of discounted
airfares to travel agents. Prior to the Solarnet distribution, the only
method D-FW Tours had to distribute airfare information to travel agents
was by computer disk. The updates to this information were costly,
time-consuming and of limited market penetration. Now, with the Solarnet
Travel Network, the accurate, timely and updated fare information is
available to every U.S. travel agent from any CRS. John Przywara, chief
executive officer of F-FW Tours, said today: "I believe the Solarnet Travel
Network will afford the travel agency community and D-FW Tours a much more
cost-effective manner to distribute consolidator airfares on a timely
basis. I am extremely excited of potentially being able to double the
amount of business we process and at the same time reducing the time
necessary for shopping calls."
Frank Wells, chairman of SCS Solars, comments, "The addition of these
contracts shows that the Solarnet Travel Network is continuing to attract
new clients requiring assistance in dissemination of travel products."
