Lazard Freres analyst Serman says Excite@Home is still the leader in the cable broadband space. The company has more than 44 million registered users at its Excite portal, and more than 1 million broadband customers. And, he adds, the company currently has the exclusive rights to provide broadband access to more than 72 million homes of affiliated cable companies ? three times more than Time Warner.
