Hi Jim. RE: Neither Niles or Fortuna could possibly know what DELL's quarter is going to look like this far in advance unless they had DELL's order book...

Not only that, but these guys would also need Dell's internal projection for each week of the quarter... that is,
where Dell expected to be in week 9, week 10 regarding volumes, ASP's and mix for each product line etc to figure
out whether Dell was behind, right on, or ahead of plan.

Niles and Fortuna's opinions at this point are at best a wild ass guess based on gut feelings and anecdotal evidence.
In fact, their projections seem like pure extrapolations of
Q3 which is kind of like the weathermen here in Austin who predict tomorrow's wether will be just like today... they're guaranteed to be right 75% of the time.

At week 10, even Dell's finance dept. armed with master plan and bookings couldn't call the quarter with the degree of accuracy these guys seem confident of.
