God did ordain for us to enjoy praise but I utterly agree with you that most of the "stuff" people call praise is nothing less than carnal entertainment and Glorifies those who composed the "stuff"
I believe that to attempt to Praise God with songs invented by men when He gave us a Holy Book of Psalms to sing by the Gift of the Holy Spirit is to seek to offer the offering of Cain - inventions of men !!!
I am sure that the "House of Prayer" Jesus had a Zeal for was not the Modern Theatres people call churches :-}

Well let's just think about that....
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Jane do you know what it means to "Work Iniquity"
It is to be against the Holy Law of God and to live by your own "principles" rather than true and humble obedience to God!!!
Remind you at all of the "Modern Churches" ??????
How many " MODERN CHURCHES " teach repentance and Righteous living??
They say "we are not under the law" as they commit adultery and divorce one another without a thought...
They say "we are not under the law" as they Rob even God of His 10% tithe and publish their list of Christian Businesses you should call even on the LORD'S DAY !!!
They say "we are not under the law" as they covet the things of this world and seek financial blessings above spiritual.
They say "we are not under the law" as they say all manner of evil falsely against me because I speak the truth about God's Holy Law...
This is a Nation or Workers of Iniquity !!
They believe they can LOVE without LAW Fools... LOve is a keeping of God's law even toward our enemies as Christ has commanded!!
Romans 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
If you love you neighbour do you covet or sleep with his wife???
If you love your neighbour do you make him work on the Lord's Day's and miss the worship of God ??
If you love your neighbour to you hate him with you speech and kill him with your evil gossip?
If you love your neighbour do you borrow things and never return them or out and out steal from him??
Their is no LOVE with those who are law haters.
Do modern Christians confess being saved FROM a life of SIN?
Or do they think Jesus legalized it ???
What did Jesus say:
Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Let us be as even the psalmist:
Psalm 119:77 Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.
