tensforme, here's a simple answer to your question. The G*-I constellation will not be used for broadband. The G*-II constellation could be very different, but it is still on the drawing board. G*-I will support fax, messaging, gps , and data by summer time, but the transmission rate is limited to 9600 bps. This is approx. 4 times faster than Iridium, but it by no means broadband. Who knows if HDR could be implemented to G*I, some say yes and others say no. No official plans have been announced yet for HDR on G*-I. Hope this helps.
