I believe MOT buys chips (asics) from Pantech who buys them from qcom (if I am wrong someone please correct). Q always makes money on chips either from their own sale or on royalties on cdma chips made by licensees - in addition qcom also receive royalties on all cdma devices. Thanks Web.
