Rambus modules roll from Kingston Technology

Jan. 14, 2000 (Electronic Engineering Times - CMP via COMTEX) --
Fountain Valley, Calif. - Kingston Technology Co. has begun delivering
its first proprietary Rambus in-line memory modules in both ECC and
non-ECC versions. The 184-pin modules are designed specifically for the
Deskpro EN from Compaq Computer Corp., and are compatible with the
Intel Corp. 820 motherboard. The RIMM's rated speed is 700 MHz and
capacity is 128 and 256 Mbytes. The non-ECC models are priced at $815
and $1,636; models with error-correction coding are tagged at $1,029
and $2,015.
