In England, the rich and powerful have country homes (big ones). At weekend, friends and potential friends are invited to the country for the weekend. Typically a lot of drinking and "other stuff" goes on. In this one country house, the owner had a special room built. In this room, the floor was on the ceiling and the ceiling was on the floor. Furniture and bric-a-brac also. Why did he do that you ask? As an evening progressed and the amount of drink that guests had consumed was at the point where everyone was quite drunk, a first time guest after he had fallen asleep in a chair, would be placed in the upside down room. Of course, when he woke up the next day, he would panic and start screaming that somehow in his drunkenness-he slept on the ceiling and was still up there. My God, how did I get myself in this fix?!!!
