Thank you for the information concerning GPGI's method of drying precipitate. Would you hazard a guess as to the volume of precipitate you saw. It sounds rather primitive to me; I would have rather believed they used a filter-press - these are pretty common machines used to take a slurry and reduce it to a solid "cake" of 12% moisture or less. The press is then opened like an accordian and the slab-like "cake" broken out and sent to a drying oven. I've seen pictures of GPGI facilities and I can not believe they do not have such a machine. They are not expensive. Mr. Jensen can pick up a used filter press at any of the many defunct metal plating shops around the country.
