Next posts: public records of Better Home Financial Group, which was identified as Dorian Reed's business at the time of the credit card scam.

Two interesting things:

(1) Listworld (which was described as the center of the credit card scam) and BHFG got involved in some dispute in 1990, and they went to court. Those of you who've been debating the issue of whether two scamsters can cheat one another might find it interesting to ponder what this dispute might have been about. Recall that the relationship between the two was described by The Recorder this way:

The complaint also charges Listworld with effectively franchising out the
operation to telemarketing companies in other states. Other defendants
include Nevada-based American Quality Corp., Rancho Cucamonga-based Better
Home Financial Group Inc., Colorado-based Yost Distributing Inc.,
Salinas-based Gary & Jim Investments Ltd. and Honolulu-based Hotel Express
Marketing of Hawaii Inc.

(2) BHFG did not cease to exist after the 1993 bankruptcy and Dorian Reed's imprisonment for criminal fraud. In fact, public records as recent as Jan 1999 show an entity named Better Home Financial Group that was apparently active, with an address in San Dimas CA, which is only a few miles from Rancho Cucamonga, as shown in this map:

In fact, I will combine the various public records into just two posts, before federal prison and after, to draw attention to this point.

The two records before prison are the docket item for the dispute with Listworld, and a UCC (for what might be a leased phone system or some such thing).

Recall that BHFG was part of the 1993 bankruptcy of Dorian Reed:

THE PRESS-ENTERPRISE (RIVERSIDE, CA.) January 25, 1993 Monday

Dorain Reed, fdba Better Home Financial Group, Inc., Landmark
Capitol, Inc., Perfume Clearing House, Inc., Hartman Corp., Inc.,
10535 Merlot Court, Alta Loma; debts: $ 413,232, assets: $ 15,085;
Chapter 7.

These are all public records. I will X-out a social security number for a person, but otherwise I paste them here exactly as I found them on Lexis.
