Bill,

My position has been for months, that the situation will be very close for quite some time. However, I do not see a knock out punch from AMD coming with their road map as I know it. Of course, maybe AMD is sandbagging, or one side will screw up, or some other unforeseen incident may occur, and then I'd be wrong.

It is to AMD's credit that they have "caught up" with the Athlon in terms of a product with comparable performance.

If I were an AMD'er, I would hope that what AMD has been saying is true, that Athlon truly is a 7th generation design, and that Mustang had better keep pace with Willamette.
