I had always thought ARM had something to do with Symbian

I thought these were two separate statements by Nokia:

1. "ARM is our standard hardware solution".

2. "EPOC is our standard software solution".

My understanding: ARM and Symbian are connected in the same manner that Intel and Microsoft are connected; common interest in advancing an enabling technology solution with complementary products that each brings to it.

Can anyone clarify or elaborate further on the ARM/Symbian relationship?

Brian
