MSFT benefits from Apple as long as they continue to provide Office for the Apple platform.

Linux has been around longer than NT and has never been growing as fast as NT. Until the growth of linux actually converges with NT I wouldn't show much concern.

Linux is more of a threat to other *nix systems because it can easily replace them, but still likely will not. Just because SUNW and SCOC will not admit to this doesn't make it untrue.

As for MSFT and not getting in front of their legal dilemma, how do you know? Only rumors circulate and if you base your call on a rumor then you could be bracing for a disaster. I question why you made your advisement before earnings? That's playing with your clients money in a very irresponsible manner, in my opinion.

The fact that you are hear defending your advisement makes me wonder if you aren't totally convinced yourself?

P.S. One final word about linux... Linux is a great opportunity for the entire IT industry. I don't believe it will replace any big iron or MSFT server farms, but it will work well to cooperate with them and provide some added cohesiveness to the entire server farm (data center?) architecture. JMHO.
