Maybe I was just really ticked off and jumped the gu in my reasoning as I could not figure out who would do such a thing since I did continue to post here while the board was going for the last few months albeit with only a few paople that were not SI members.
I did state that I fully understood SI's position so as I said, I have no gripe with them.
You may say this is not your thread but to at least myself that know how it started, I do think of it as yours, and so I would leave before I would ever even try to drive you off it,( as if I could <g>)
As for your e-mail, I lost all my addresses a while back when I formatted my hard drive. I do back ups to CD of all my stuff but I'll be damned if I can figure out where MSFT hides the Mail files in Windows 98 for MSFT exchange. ( I know in Outlook it is a PAB and PST file but I can not find where it is in Exchange) Therefore your address is lost in cyberspace somewhere. Like I said, I was just going to leave and not say anything but when I saw the topic on going and spreading to others not involved in the issue, I chose to try and get it in the open and get it over with. I guess it is a good thing since I was accusing the wrong man. Now I am really curious who it was. SI Bob made it clear that they do not find these things by themselves and that someone has to dial 911 first.
To jbmeb or whatever your name is now <ggg>, Yes we know that it seems minor but total control over a board really does help as LG said. As for a header, it gets to be a pain. At least at teh new site, the name of the site makes it clear what the focus is, the poll makes it clear what the focus is, etc.
Again, LG sorry for falsly accusing, The timing was suspect. You make a good point about my not jumping in to support you or even DMP on occasions but then again I guess we figure we are able to take care of ourselves so we tend to wait it out sometimes and see how big it gets. As for why I tended not to jump in, I am usually at work and by the time I come home and read the board at 5PM Mountain Time ( 7 PM eastern), Most of the battles are already over.
As you said, running a site is a full time endevor and I have my hands full now that we are getting decent traffic ( My message board doesn't hold much and requires constant purging). For now it is a passion to build what I could never find at another site. I just need to figure out how to put it all together into what I and others envision.
