No, actually there is only one discussion, here is the opening point of contention:

Mr. Tippett, Stromberg and Rasp believe that the option holding period is added to the stock holding period for purposes of determining LT gains. Mr. Rasp gave an example of a wash transaction that he believed supported the position that the two were essentially the same and thus the combined holding period.
