Edwin, it's of course just my opinion but I think it highly possible that Softbank can never be listed in the U.S. The reason is that since it doesn't majority own most of its affiliated companies then it would be ruled to be a mutual fund in the U.S. This means that we all, and especially including Mr. Son, would have to pay capital gains taxes whenever the company sold part of an incubatee at the IPO.
But looking back at 1999, if it "ONLY" does as well in 2000 then we will be wildly rich and the stock price will be well past Jay's number of 800k yen. A bunch of new, loaded philanthropists will be born!
