From what I know, there appears to be enough basis to bring a case and withstand a motion for summary judgment, thereby allowing the case to go to the jury.

Who knows what a jury would decide. In our legal system, everyone pays their own legal bills. Therefore, even if someone is ultimately found not liable for damages in a civil case, they still lost big time.

It can potentially be very expensive game some of these people are playing on SI. There are people on SI that have major money and if they want to go after you to screw you over, it will cost you. All they need is a reasonable claim and sufficient money to pay their lawyers.

In this day and age, it doesn't pay to piss off the wrong people.
